About Us
The Garlington Foundation exists to provide a compassionate bridge for people working to rebuild their lives. We understand that recovery isn’t only physical — it can mean healing from loss, trauma, or instability that leaves a person feeling unseen or displaced. Our work is grounded in the belief that every individual deserves time, space, and support to regain strength, direction, and purpose.
Each day, our team serves individuals who are navigating challenges such as illness, grief, depression, and homelessness — people seeking to recover not just their health, but their confidence and connection to community. We meet each person where they are, offering structure without judgment, encouragement without pressure, and care that sees the whole human being.
Our approach combines case coordination, recuperative care, and support services to create meaningful and sustainable progress:
Case Coordination helps individuals plan their recovery journey, connecting them with resources and daily guidance that promote stability, focus, and accountability.
Recuperative Care offers a safe, restorative environment for both body and mind — a place to heal from medical events, emotional hardship, or life transitions with compassion and structure.
Support Services extend beyond the moment of crisis, empowering people with the skills, confidence, and access they need to rebuild independence and long-term wellness.
We welcome anyone who is ready to take the next step toward stability — those seeking recovery after hospitalization, healing from grief or depression, or simply needing a supportive place to regain balance.
Rooted in integrity, compassion, and efficiency, The Garlington Foundation works every day to deliver care that restores dignity and inspires hope. Our mission is to make a ridiculously positive impact in the lives of those who trust us to walk alongside them during their most vulnerable moments.
Delivering compassionate community support services that reinvigorate growth and stability, and strengthen each individual’s connection to a healthier, more purposeful life.
“I know what it is to need help, want help, and get help, so I’m here to serve.”

About the Founder
Mr. Kevin Antoine Garlington, Founder and Executive Director of The Garlington Foundation, has lived the realities that many of the Foundation’s clients face. After enduring profound personal loss including the theft of his business, the loss of two homes, and the passing of three close relatives, Kevin experienced a period of grief and depression that led to homelessness.
His restoration came through the close watch and unwavering support of his family, which for him includes friends who became family and many families who chose to adopt him in as their own. That circle of love and acceptance reignited his strength and purpose. It also became the heart of The Garlington Foundation, an organization built to give people the same sense of belonging, community, and family that helped him heal.
Kevin has long dedicated himself to serving others. He has supported individuals with developmental disabilities through the California Regional Center system and began volunteering at his local church as a youth, carrying that commitment to service and his deep love for ministry into adulthood. These experiences strengthened his belief that faith, compassion, and community can transform lives when they come together with intention and care.
Grounded in integrity and lived experience, Kevin founded The Garlington Foundation to create spaces where healing can happen and lives can be restored. His leadership is guided by empathy, efficiency, and a genuine belief in people’s capacity to recover and thrive. Above all, he simply aims to serve the disadvantaged communities of his own hometown as much as he can, for as long as he can, while he can.
